The Campus F.03 building, located in Aveiro, is nearing completion and has 6 floors above the street level and 1 below, totaling 23 residential units and a commercial/services space.
In formal terms, the proposal was developed with a focus on the street frontage, taking into account the established urban fabric of the area where the building is located, thereby completing the street line. Given the specifications of the site, we created a gradual transition between the building’s elevations on Av. de Oita and Rua de São Sebastião. To this end, we emphasized the structural frame, using it to create an aesthetic rhythm in the façades, marked by the pillars and beams. Since we intend to dematerialize this volume next to Rua de São Sebastião, this structure is going to be gradually defragmented until it reaches the total number of floors. To achieve this, we established a dynamic interplay between solid and void, utilizing walls, glass, or simply leaving the spaces open (such as in the balcony areas) between the pillars.
Access to the residential units is done through the side of the building, on Rua de São Sebastião, allowing access to the distribution hall area, with access to two elevators and enclosed service stairs.
In terms of spatial organization, the first floors contain the smallest typologies, while the last two levels feature two dwellings per floor, of the typologies T2 and T3.
