This project consists of the rehabilitation and expansion of an existing building in Aveiro, inserted in a consolidated urban landscape. The main modification is increasing the building’s volumetry, and integrating it with the surrounding common space and environment. The ground floor is occupied by a one-bedroom unit, with access to the two bedrooms on the upper floors. The layout of the unit is organized with an entrance leading to the social areas, facing Rua Capitão Souza Pizarro, while the interior spaces are dedicated to the kitchen and sanitary facilities. Finally, the access corridor to the living room faces Rua Homem Cristo Filho.

The facades along Rua Capitão Souza Pizarro will be restored and the tiles that are damaged will be repaired or remodeled. The pre-existing window frames will be replaced with wooden frames featuring double glazing.

The ETICS System with a gray finish will be used on the upper floor and rear façade. The foundation of the building on the ground floor, facing Rua Homem Cristo Filho will be in marble. The frames for the new intervention will be made in thermo lacquered aluminum in RAL 9004 gray, with an invisible profile on the interior side. 

Inside the units, partitions will be constructed from plasterboard panels, prepared to receive paint and/or varnished pine panels. In wet areas, water-repellent plasterboard will be used, finished with ceramic tiles.

The interior floors will be covered in smoothed and varnished pine in the living areas and bedrooms.
